When I am Weak

I was reading this morning from 2 Corinthians chapter 12 and I felt so relieved by what I read! Paul was talking about his weakness and how when he feels weak, that is when Christ is able to be strong inside him. This made me so happy because I literally feel weak ALL THE TIME! I get distracted easily, feel like I’m a bad mom, forget where I’m supposed to be, feel depressed. Oh my gosh, the list just goes on and on. But Paul is saying, when we feel weak God’s strength will become our strength. He also says that God’s grace is sufficient for us. I love that word, sufficient. I love it because everyday I feel insufficient, but God tells us that His grace will take the place of our insufficiency. This is such great news! How does that happen though? Well, it goes something like this. As I talk to God and share with him what I am struggling with, tell Him my concerns, sit with Him and process my weaknesses like I would with a good friend, something magical happens. I start to get strong. You know the people who just listen when you have a problem and don’t try and fix you? Those people are priceless. You feel so good after talking to them. They don’t come back at you with a whole lot of solutions. They just listen, pray and help you figure it out. That’s kind of what happens to us when we talk to God about our weakness. He doesn’t say a whole lot, usually, but most of the time we leave after the conversation feeling a whole lot stronger! Ahhhh, His grace is sufficient. My weakness is made strong through HIm. Maybe today take a few minutes and read 2 Corinthians chapter 12 and as you do, I pray you find strength as you navigate through the weaknesses in your own life.

Much love,

Melissa
